Login and Organization

This guide covers how to log in to the Ekotrope ONSITE Inspection App, what happens with your organization, and what you can and cannot do when you do not have an internet connection.

Logging In

The Inspection App uses the same credentials as Ekotrope RATER. If you can log in to RATER, you can log in here with the same username and password.

To sign in:

1. Open the app in your browser.
2. Enter your username and password.
3. Tap "Sign In."

The app remembers your last username for convenience, so you normally only need to type your password on subsequent logins.

Forgot your password? Tap the "Forgot Password?" link on the login screen to reset it.

Your Organization

Your organization is linked to your Ekotrope account. You do not pick an organization when you log in — the app fetches it from the server automatically.

You can confirm which organization you are logged in under in two places:

• On the home screen, in the Welcome back! panel ("User Organization")
• In Settings, under the About section

If your organization is wrong or missing, contact support — this is a user account setting and cannot be changed from inside the app.

Inspector vs. Dispatcher

The app has two roles. Your role determines what you see on the home screen and what actions are available to you.

RoleWhat You See and Do
InspectorHome screen shows your assigned inspections as cards, grouped by date. You open inspections, fill out forms, attach photos, and submit. See Using the Inspector Dashboard.
DispatcherHome screen shows all organization inspections in a sortable table. You create and assign inspections, reassign inspectors, and run bulk CSV imports. See Using the Dispatcher Dashboard.

Your role is set by your organization administrator. If you think your role is wrong, contact support or your org admin.

Logging In Requires a Connection

Your first sign-in on a device requires an internet connection. The app verifies your credentials with the server before letting you in.

Once you have logged in successfully at least once, the app remembers your session. You can continue using the app offline after that — opening inspections, filling out forms, and submitting — as long as you have previously logged in on that device and browser.

Tip: Log in while on Wi-Fi before heading to a job site. This also gives the app a chance to download your assigned inspections for offline use. See Downloading Inspections for Offline Use.

Logging Out

The Log Out button is at the bottom of the home screen in the Welcome back! panel.

Important: Before logging out, make sure all your pending inspections have synced. Look at the sync status indicator near the top of the screen — if it shows pending syncs, wait for them to finish before signing out. See Syncing and Data Issues for details on what the status colors mean.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I switch organizations without logging out?
A: No. Your organization is tied to your account. If you belong to multiple organizations, you will need a separate account for each.

Q: I am offline and the app is asking me to log in. What should I do?
A: This means your session has expired or you have not logged in on this device before. You will need an internet connection to sign in. Once logged in, you can continue offline.

Q: I am a dispatcher but I also need to do inspections. Can I do both?
A: Your role determines what dashboard appears on your home screen. If you need both functions regularly, contact your organization administrator about how your account should be configured.

Q: My username shows up automatically but I still need to type my password. Is something wrong?
A: No, this is normal. The app remembers the last username used for convenience, but you always enter your password fresh for security.
