Provider and User Admin users in Provider organizations are able to create new users in their own organization, and in any Rater Organization within their Providership. They are also able to edit existing users. This is accessible in your company's Organization Setting, which are accessed by clicking your company's name in the Ekotrope app header. Once there, the following tabs will be accessible: Create User, Create Rating Org, and Users List.
Create User
Here is a description of the information available when creating a new account:
Name | The name of the person who will be using this account. |
Username | Used by the user to login to this account. All usernames must be unique within Ekotrope. |
Ekotrope will use this email for support communications and transactional emails for this account e.g. batch action completion notifications. | |
Organization | The user will be part of the organization selected here. Your company and all companies within your Providership will be available. If you would like to add a new company, you may do so in the Create Rating Org tab. Further instructions on that can be found below. |
Password | If you do not select "Send New User Account Credentials" below, be sure to send this password, alongside the username, to the person you have created the account for so they can use Ekotrope. |
Roles | See this article for details on the meanings of each role. |
Rater ID (RTIN) Optional | RESNET Rater Test Identification Number (RTIN), if applicable |
Field Inspector ID (RFIIN) Optional | RESNET Rating Field Inspector Identification Number (RFIIN), if applicable |
Set License Expiration? | This will set the site license expiration date of the user. Once this date has passed, the user will no longer be able to access Ekotrope, however, their name will still be available from all drop-down menus for reporting purposes. If you need to add someone to Ekotrope for the sake of reporting, but they will not need access to Ekotrope, set the site license expiration to the previous day. |
Send New User Account Credentials? | Will send an email to you and the newly created user containing the new user's username and password, as well as a link to our New User Tour. |
Create Rating Org - For Provider Admins only
Organization Name | The name of the organization to be created. This name will be used on reports and project submissions. |
Full Address | The address of the organization to be created. This address will be used on reports and project submissions. This is an optional field and can be updated at a later date by any user within that organization. |
Phone Number | The phone number of the organization to be created. This number will be used on reports and project submissions. This is an optional field and can be updated at a later date by any user within that organization. |
Fax Number | The fax number of the organization to be created. This number will be used on reports and project submissions. This is an optional field and can be updated at a later date by any user within that organization. |
Provider | This field is auto populated and should read your organization's name (as you are their provider) |
Users List & Edit Users - For Provider Admins only
This is an editable list of all users within your organization, as well as under your Providership.
From the User List menu providers are able to edit the details of all users within their organization, as well as users under their Providership.
Click the Edit button in the row of the user you would like to edit to bring up a popup with their information. Specific columns are sort-able by clicking on the corresponding column name in the header. You can also download this information in a CSV format by clicking the Download Account Info button at the bottom of the page.
If users forget their password and cannot access their account, they can reset their password by going to the login page at app.ekotrope.com, clicking the Forgot password? link, and providing their username and email address. The user must have access to the email address listed in their account, because a verification code will be sent to them via email before they are able to reset their password.

Is Active | This marks if the User is an active user of Ekotrope RATER. If this is unchecked, the User will not be able to log into Ekotrope RATER. This User will also not show up in User Lists in the energy model (e.g., not be able to be selected as an Additional User. |
Set License Expiration? | This controls if the User is able to access Ekotrope RATER. If the expiration date is in the past, the User will not be able to log into Ekotrope RATER. These users will still show up in User Lists in the energy model. |
What about RFIs who don't need access to Ekotrope but need to be listed on reports?
Rating Field Inspectors commonly do not need access to Ekotrope RATER but need to be selected as an additional user in the energy model. To accomplish this, create an account for them and mark the user as "Active" but set their expiration to the past. This will mean the user cannot log into Ekotrope RATER and we will not charge you for that account, but will still be selectable in the user list of the energy model.
