PHOTO REQUIRED of all refrigerator/freezer nameplates/model numbers (if installed) or empty spaces (if not installed) per HERS® Chapter 9. If multiple refrigerators/freezers are present in the Rated Home, a photo must be taken of each one. Raters/RFIs are responsible for documenting reasons for missing photos. Refrigerators are often not installed at time of final inspection for new homes. If the builder provides this appliance, the Rater/RFI should provide supporting documentation in form of spec sheet/purchase order from the builder. If the builder does not provide a major appliance, the software model should reflect the same input as the reference home, which should reflect the RESNET default value based off the number of bedrooms in the reference home so not to claim credit on the HERS Index for something not provided at time of rating. *Refrigerator efficiency shown on the EnergyGuide that ships with the appliance can differ from published data for the same model. The Rater/RFI should document which source they used and provide supporting documentation (such as photo of the EnergyGuide or photo of nameplate w/ model #).
SCORING:
"Satisfactory": When all mandatory photos are taken by Rater/RFI and no errors below occur
"Unsatisfactory": When one or more errors below occur
"Missing Photo": When one or more mandatory photos are not taken by Rater/RFI
"Unsatisfactory + Missing Photo": When one or more errors below occur and all mandatory photos are not taken by Rater/RFI
GUIDANCE: *kWh/yr matches EnergyGuide present or the efficiency rating based on the verified model or if not installed, RESNET default value (based off the number of bedrooms in home) is used *value is summed for all refrigerators/freezers or refrigerator locations present in the home during the confirmed rating.
