FF_Q11_Framed Floors Version 7.1.1

If applicable/visible, Rater/RFI verifies and documents the correct Framed Floors areas, types, exposures, floor coverings (and R-values), insulation types and R-values (framed floors over unconditioned crawl spaces or basements, over unconditioned garages, over porches, or cantilevers over ambient outdoor conditions; not framed floors between stories inside the thermal envelope). Frame floors should be separately verified as covered or exposed.

• Be sure that where multiple framed floor types exist, they are handled separately, including where their “location” with respect to conditioned areas of the home may vary between framed floor types and within the same type.

SCORING:

• Satisfactory: No errors in verification
• 1: one to two minor errors in verification (listed below) (this is per verified framed floor)
• 2: three to four minor errors (listed below) in verification OR one to two major errors in verification (this is per verified framed floor)
• 3: five or more minor errors (listed below) OR three or more major errors in verification (listed below) (this is per verified framed floor)

Minor Framed Floor Verification Errors:

• Incorrect Insulation Location verified
• Insulation R-Value of each verified Framed Floor off by 5% to 10%
• Insulation depth of each verified Framed Floor off by 0.5 to <1.0 inch
• Incorrect Framed Floor Construction verified
• Framed Floor Surface Area of each verified Framed Floor off by 4% to 7%
• Incorrect Framed Floor Location & Exposure verified
• Incorrect Floor Covering verified for each Framed Floor section
• Incorrect Floor Covering R-Value verified for each Framed Floor section Major Framed Floor Verification Errors:
• Insulation R-Value of each verified Framed Floor off by greater than 10%
• Insulation depth of each verified Framed Floor off by greater than 1.0 inch
• Incorrect Insulation Grade value verified (based on ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2019 Appendix A depth/void variance for insulation type and grade)
• Incorrect joist depth, spacing, or framing fraction verified
• Framed Floor Surface Area of each verified Framed Floor off by greater than 7%
