FF_Q10_SlabFloors Version 7.1.1

Modified on Wed, 29 Jan at 4:02 PM

PHOTO REQUIRED or additional documentation required of slab perimeter insulation per ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2019 APPENDIX B and MINHERS Chapter 9. Raters/RFIs are responsible for documenting reasons for missing photos. If applicable/visible, Rater/RFI verifies and documents the correct slab area, perimeters, depth below grade, floor covering (and R-value), exposures, insulation type, grade and R-values. Slab floors should be separately verified as covered or exposed. Typically, Raters/RFIs are not present when slab insulation is installed before the slab is poured, and are therefore not able to collect photodocumentation. One option is that field verifiers can photodocument a slab insulation inspection of homes on the same builder’s adjacent lots while in the area performing pre-drywall and/or final inspections. As an alternative, the builder can provide slab insulation photos and documentation for the home. The QAD should verify that the documentation provided is sufficient to confirm the quality and accuracy of the installation.

SCORING:

"Satisfactory" when correct or "Unsatisfactory" when incorrect.

GUIDANCE:

  • R-Value and Grading - Rater/RFI is within ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2019 Appendix A depth/void variance for insulation type and grade identified
  • Slab Surface Area - QAD value within 10% of Rater/RFI value
  • Depth Values - QAD value within 1' of Rater/RFI value
  • Perimeter Values - QAD value within 5% of Rater/RFI value
  • Floor Covering - Rater/RFI correctly verified for each slab section
  • Covering R-Value - Rater/RFI correctly verified this value
  • Grade - Rater/RFI correctly verified this value
  • Exposure - Rater/RFI correctly verified this value
