PHOTO REQUIRED of Mechanical Ventilation Test Results, equipment nameplate/model number and controls per MINHERS Chapter 9. Raters/RFIs are responsible for documenting reasons for missing photos. Mechanical Ventilation is tested according to ANSI/RESNET/ICC 380. Rater/RFI verifies and documents the correct ventilation type, frequency, flow and wattage.
- Ventilation wattage can be verified via published OEM data, third party database (i.e. HVI.org) or on-site measurement via Watt meter.
- Air flow measurement methods are described in ANSI/RESNET/ICC 380. Rater/RFI correctly notes whether or not they perform the testing.
- Usage of Operable Windows (Natural Ventilation): Confirm that the type of ventilation that occurs or is most likely to occur matches the Cooling Season Strategy: 'No Ventilation', 'Natural Ventilation', or 'Whole House Fan'.
SCORING:
Satisfactory: <10% variance between QAD result and Rater/RFI result
- 10% to <15% variance between QAD result and Rater/RFI result
- 15% to 25% variance between QAD result and Rater/RFI result
25% variance between QAD result and Rater/RFI result
