PHOTO REQUIRED of ceiling/roof insulation per ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2019 APPENDIX B and MINHERS Chapter 9. Raters/RFIs are responsible for documenting reasons for missing photos. For all ceiling entries, Rater/RFI verifies and documents the correct ceiling (flat, vaulted/sloped, and/or encapsulated) types, locations, insulation types, R-values, insulation thicknesses, insulation grades, framing spacings and dimensions, gypsum thicknesses, framing factors, ceiling areas and attic exterior areas.

SCORING:

• Satisfactory: No minor or major errors in ceiling verification
• 1: one to two minor errors in ceiling verification (listed below)
• 2: three to four minor errors (listed below) OR one to two major errors in ceiling verification
• 3: NO PHOTO OR five or more minor errors (listed below) OR three or more major errors in ceiling verification (listed below)

Minor Ceiling Verification Errors:

• Surface Area of each verified ceiling off by 2% to 5%:
• Incorrect Insulation type verified:
• Insulation R-Value of each verified ceiling off by 5% to 10%:
• Insulation thickness of each verified ceiling off by 0.5 to 1.0 inch:
• Incorrect Insulation R-values above horizontal attic access or adjacent to vertical attic access verified:

• Incorrect stud depth, spacing, or framing fraction verified:
