Submitting to the DTE Major Renovations program on Ekotrope follows a similar process to the other utility programs on Ekotrope with a few tweaks.
In order to submit to the Renovations program, a project must have two building designs. One must be named Existing, the other must be named Final, and the Final design must be the master design (indicated by the blue ribbon). The custom reference home requires these two building designs and without them. The Existing building design should represent the home before the renovation, and the Final design should represent the home after the renovation.
There are also three new custom reports: the DTE Renovations Fuel Summary, Proposed Home Summary, and Reference Home Summary. The program uses a custom reference home to calculate the savings, so these reports can help you understand the reference home and the proposed home’s performance.
Similar to other utility programs, a project must pass the automated QA checks. Raters can find these QA checks under Quick Results within the building design, or when they select the Submit button and choose the DTE Renovations program.
If there are specific modeling questions for a project, please work with your provider, the program team, or email support@ekotrope.com.
