RESNET protocol allows for sampled testing of a minimum of 1/7 homes in production built communities or multifamily buildings. To avoid manual entry of the exact same inputs for 7 homes, Ekotrope has implemented batch address creation functionality that will copy templates to create new projects with new addresses in Ekotrope. The recommended procedure in Ekotrope is as follows:
- Build template projects in Ekotrope, and fill them in with proper field testing results. In this example the template projects are named "Sample template 1", "Sample template 2", and "Sample template 3".
- In the My Projects list in Ekotrope, select the sample templates you want to generate additional projects for. In this example, you could search "Sample template" to narrow down the list and then select the templates. Tip: if you select a project then hold Shift and select another project all of the projects in-between will also be selected.
- Click the "Batch Actions" button, then click "Generate Sample Set"
Click "Download SampleSetDefinitions.csv"
Open the downloaded .csv file in Excel. Highlight the whole document and change the Number Format to Text. This will prevent Excel from trimming 0's off the front of numbers.
- Then, insert a row for each address one row per address that should be created. If columns are left empty, those values will not be altered from the template values. See example spreadsheet below:NOTE: be careful of Excel's auto-incrementing when dragging down Template Project ID cells. If the ID ends in a number, you should copy/paste instead of dragging the ID down.
Save spreadsheet from Excel as a .csv file. This requires changing the file type in the dropdown while saving the file.
Upload the file into Ekotrope by dragging the file into the large box, or clicking the box to select the file, then clicking Generate Sample Set. Ekotrope will take care of the rest! You will receive an email when the new projects have been created.
