For each duct system, confirm that the system types, field test status, associated heating/cooling equipment, square feet served, # of returns, duct areas, duct insulation R-values, locations and % areas which are entered into the software correspond with field-verified plans and/or field data collected by the Rater/RFI for the actual condition of the rated home.

• Using rating software to estimate surface area is appropriate for most ducted systems. Any entered duct surface areas that deviate significantly from a software estimate (e.g. the small surface area of high-velocity ducts) should be documented in notes and/or photographs.
