When looking at a home's HERS Certificate or Air Leakage Report, you may notice text that specifies the "Adjusted Infiltration."
What is the Adjusted Infiltration and where does it come from?
In version 4.0.0 and later, Ekotrope automatically adjusts the infiltration rate for HERS and ERI-rated homes as prescribed in RESNET/ANSI/ICC 301. See Table 4.2.2(1) Specifications for the Energy Rating Reference and Rated Homes, in ANSI 301-2019 to learn more about how the adjustment works (screenshots below). It will namely apply to multi-family homes and homes with insufficient mechanical ventilation.
