Although Ekotrope is a web application, some work can be done when no internet connection is available, like out in the field. Specifically, edits can be made to a building design while offline, and once internet connectivity is restored the changes can be saved. Here is an example workflow for how a rater might benefit from this in practice.
- While getting ready for the day and have internet access, e.g. in the office, open a browser tab for the Ekotrope project for each building site that will be visited during the day.
- In each tab, edit the master design for the project so that all tabs are on the edit building design page.
- When on-site, perform any verification or edits that need to happen, but don't save or navigate away from the edit building design page.
- Once an internet connection is available, click save on the edit building design page in each tab.
