Modeling Chillers

To model a Chiller in Ekotrope, the system's SEER efficiency must be calculated using the following equation:

where:

Cap: Total output of Chiller system in Btu / hr

aux: Total of pumping and fan power serving the system in Watts.

         If rated pump power is in Horsepower (HP), convert to Watts with the formula: 

                    Watts = HP x 746 / motor efficiency 

         If motor efficiency unknown, use 0.85.

auxdweq: Total of the in-unit cooling equipment power serving the Dwelling Unit in Watts

Ndweq: Number of Dwelling Units that served by the shared Chiller system.

Input: Total input power of Chiller system in Watts.
